Absolutely, the Vestrahorn Campsite is open all year round. However, please be aware that the Icelandic winter can be harsh and unpredictable. You should always check the weather forecast and road conditions before you travel.
We are sorry, but we do not accept reservations for the campsite. It is a first come, first serve basis. If you want to be sure to get a spot, we recommend that you arrive early in the day, as the campsite can get busy in the evening. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we hope to see you soon at our campsite!
The campsite is located at the foot of Vestrahorn mountain which is in the south-east part of Iceland, on the Stokksnes peninsula. You can easily reach it from the town Höfn, which is only an 18 minute drive away or a 90 minute bicycle ride. The last 4 km of the road is gravel, but you don’t need a 4x4 car unless there is heavy snow. See more information on our Interactive Map of the area.
The opening hours of the Viking Cafe are from 08:00 to 19:00 every day. You can enjoy our delicious waffles and coffee, as well as other snacks and drinks, during these hours. We look forward to welcoming you at our Viking Cafe!
